Nice Hotel Le Negresco : "Fabulous and unique"

This place is just fabulous. Can't believe all the moans expressed. It seems to me that these are from people who just want everything to be big, flashy and glitzy. If you want a coporate chain hotel - go and stay in one. The Negresco has European grander, elegance and charm. It really is a one off experience.

Stayed there October 29th with my wife for just one night before a cruise. I had stayed there 17 years ago with my family and although not much has changed it is a 1st class hotel without a doubt. Great location in Nice for a short trip. We stayed in an interior room (no sea view) and we found it very comfortable and very roomy. With the Euro so strong it was quite pricey ($390) but if you can afford it and appreciate a luxury hotel it wont disappoint you. ---The only thing that one can say bad about the property is the elevator is very slow but you can always take the grand staircase !

We loved our stay at this hotel. The hotel staff is very friendly, the hotel rooms are clean and spacious, and we loved the location. Staying here was a real pleasure for my family. The linen and beds are plush. I have been inside the hotel's junior and one bedroom suites and they're all excellent. You'll find this a relaxing home away from home. We highly recommend the Rotonde hotel's restaurant.

Great location on the french riviera, luxury room and public areas, very friendly staff Cons: none Bottom line: I really enjoyed my stay at this luxury hotel. While some of the decorating was unusual, it was certainly interesting and wonderfully comfortable. One of the most pleasant and interesting hotel stays we have ever experienced was at the famous Negresco Hotel in Nice, France. A Riviera landmark, it sits proudly on its corner on the Promenade des Anglais, which is the major tourist street running parallel to the rocky beaches of Nice. The pink and green dome sitting atop the hotel makes it resemble a giant Belle Epoque wedding cake. It is the centerpiece of the entire area. Built in 1912, it is as much a symbol of Nice.
