The palace lights were all turned off and the guards had gone to sleep. I quietly run through the hallways trying to find Vincent, Lukas personal assistant but I have no clue where he is.
Lukas palace has three floors and has countless rooms. It would be impossible to run through them all and sometimes end up in the wrong room full of people. At last I reached the first floor where I assumed he would be.
I walked around to find the kitchen where the lights were turned on. The only person who would be awake at this hour would be the maids or servants.
I snuck behind the doorway and tried to peek in to see who was in there. To my surprise it was Vincent and a servant talking. I only had one task at hand and that was to make a deal with Vincent.
I waited for the other servant to leave and after waiting around for a long time, they both parted ways. It was time to strike.
Vincent was coming right out this doorway. I get ready to catch him off-guard and knock him out for a few minutes.
I heard his footsteps get closer. My heart pounded as the footsteps became louder. His shadow came through the doorway and a moment later he came through.
I grab him into a choke hold and cover his nose and mouth with my hands. He slowly loses his consciousness from the lack of air and I carry him on my shoulders.
He was breathing fine but he would not be knocked for long. I had to get him outside and into a dark area.
I found the backside of the palace and an open window that led into the garden. Beside the garden was a dark forest with tall trees. I jump through the window and run towards the forest while carrying Vincent.
The forest was dark and I could barely see. I got under a tree and leaned him against it. I take a stick and light one of the tips on fire for a temporary torch.
I wait for Vincent to wake up while having a dagger on hand with the torch in the other. Vincent should not be out for long but if it takes too long I would be left with no choice but to force him awake.
I wait a few minutes and take my watch out to see the time. It was past midnight and everyone else should be asleep. I am deep enough inside the forest to not be spotted by a guard. While waiting I remembered that Artorius assassination will be soon. I felt anxious and paranoid but I believe he survived.
A few minutes later I hear Vincent grunt and open his eyes. I place the torch upright on the ground and get close to Vincent.
